History: Formerly known as “Ballistic Biscuit”, this is one of the oldest games in Club Penguin. Eventually, the Club Penguin team held a poll to see what the new name should be. The winner was “Hydro-Hopper”, so that is what the game’s called today.

How to Play: This game is incredibly simple: move with the mouse and click to jump over the passing obstacles.

What and What Not To Hit:

  • Avoid at ALL Costs: Buoys. You can’t jump over them, so avoid them whenever possible. Hit one and you LOSE A LIFE.
  • Avoid hitting: Beach balls, rocks, sharks, frogs, ducks, logs, bottles, submarine scopes. Usually, if you jumped and appear to land on one you should be okay. Hit them otherwise and you will LOSE A LIFE.
  • Do hit: Life rings. They usually appear when you’re short a life. Hit one and you’ll GET A LIFE.

Tips:

  • Take advantage of the fact you can move while in the air. try to land far away from buoys.
  • Generally stay on the sides of the screen if you don’t want to get hit. If you’re good at the game and aim to rake in points, feel free to stay in the middle of the screen.
  • When you lose a life, you will become invincible for a short time. Use this time to get away from any obstacles, as you will become vulnerable to getting hit in a matter of seconds and you won’t be able to jump for a split second. This usually results in losing two lives in a row.

Hopefully you’ll be able to get a pretty good score. The game is actually easier than it looks, all it takes is practice. Happy hopping!
